Arena Operations Ice Technician 
Reporting: Manager, Arena Operations
Department:  Arena Operations

Job Summary 

The Arena Operations Technician is responsible for maintaining the ice surfaces and related equipment and the overall general maintenance support of the facility.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Provide ice cuts at specified times according to the ice schedule
·Check outside perimeter of the ice surface including goal nets and storage areas
·Edge each ice surface at the end of each day
·Complete circle check of Zamboni and sign off on Zamboni log at the beginning of each shift
·Check compressors, dehumidification unit and other machinery and complete logs on regular intervals.
· Walk building to ensure locker rooms, party rooms and other areas are secured
· Maintain cleanliness of the Zamboni room and operations areas
· Check ice depth on each surface when requested by Operations Manager
· Report any repairs and damage to Operations Manager
· Conducting a final walk through of the building and ensuring all public areas are cleaned and building is secure.

 

Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Assist in cleaning locker rooms, bathrooms and all public areas of the building
  • Removal of all trash from property.
  • Assisting with hanging signs, set up of conference room and/or building for special events.
  • Other duties, cleaning and otherwise, as deemed necessary or as directed.
 
Required Knowledge/Skills/Job Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license 
  • Must possess recent related experience in the preparation and maintenance of ice. 
  • Candidate will meet the physical demands of the job, which include lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Candidate will have the ability to work as a team player and have good self-motivational skills
  • Sound organizational and time-management skills.
  • Job reliability, diligence, dedication, and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility with work schedule- Nights, weekends, and holidays required.
  • This is a part-time, hourly position.

Housekeeper - Arena Operations  
Job Titles:                   Housekeeper – PM & Weekend Shift
Reporting:                  Arena Operations Manager
Department:                Operations
 Job Summary 
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall general maintenance support of the facility.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
·         Assess locker room status and clean as needed.  Locker rooms must be turned and ready within 20 minutes for the next teams.
·         Monitor restrooms for cleanliness and supplies twice hourly.  
·         Empty all trash cans at the end of each shift and when necessary throughout the night.
·         Inspect and clean player’s benches and penalty boxes after each game.
·         Inspect all public lobby areas twice hourly and clean any spills.
·         Conduct final walk through of all locker rooms, restrooms, party rooms and other common areas at the end of each shift to ensure all areas are cleaned properly.
·         Leave notes on any repairs to public areas for Operations Manager.
·         Must be available to assist MOD and customers with maintenance issues.

Department: Outdoor Rink Operations

Job Summary:
The Ice Rink Monitor will be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for each guest at each outdoor rink (Ft. Lauderdale or West Palm Beach). The job functions will include the following:
Primary Responsibilities:
• Arrive prior to opening each day
• Assist in unloading equipment from the storage area
• Greeting guests and answering any questions they may have
• Check out each guest who rents skates and have each one sign proper waivers
• Assist guests who need help putting on/taking off skates
• Communicate directly with the Manager on duty about any issues that may arise
• Provide a clean and attractive environment for customers, clean up any trash left by guests
• Ensure guests do not touch or damage any equipment
• Other duties as deemed necessary or as directed
Required Knowledge/Skills/Job Qualifications:
• 16 or older
• Effective leadership skills
• Basic computer knowledge
• Must have a positive attitude and be willing to work
• Prior ice skating experience preferred
• Professional appearance and presentation
• Comfortable working in a face-paced environment
• Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
• Flexibility with work schedule- Nights, weekends, and holidays required.
• This is a part-time, seasonal, hourly position
• Point of sale experience preferred

Job Title: Recreational Hockey Coordinator  

Reports To: Hockey Director, Florida Panthers IceDen

Responsibilities

  • Be the main point of contact for Adult League participants, including Adult Clinics, Panthers Adult Hockey League, and Adult Open Hockey.
  • Generate master schedule and rosters and upload to Pointstreak
  • Create Panthers Adult Hockey League rules and guidelines to be signed by all team captains in coordination with USA Hockey handbook.
  • Coordinate all team payments with front office, finance department, and Hockey Department
  • Responsible for communications with teams and scheduling
  • Schedule referees and scorekeepers for all PAHL games
  • Verify payroll information and check requests for all referees and scorekeepers.
  • Coordinate championship games and schedules, as well as, ordering trophies and awards while maintaining budgetary compliance.
  • Create disciplinary progression and find all teams are in compliance, as well as tracking repeat offenders and taking the appropriate disciplinary action, in accordance with Florida Panthers IceDen and USA Hockey guidelines and rules.
  • Coordinate teams for initial and mid-season captains meetings.
  • Create schedule for conveners
  • Train and develop conveners to be attentive to changing conditions at rink in your absence.
  • Develop new and innovative initiatives for the PAHL to ensure participant satisfaction.
  • Responsible for the administrative functions for all in-house tournaments to include, but not limited to: Florida Junior Panthers Thanksgiving Tournament, Florida Panthers Invitational Tournament, Early Bird Tournament, Blades in the Glades Tournament, and others as scheduled
  • Update the tournament teams registered of schedules, schedule strength, changes, preferred hotels and giveaways/tournament information.
  • Responsible for tournament content to be reviewed, approved, and sent to prospective teams
  • Make sure set of tournament rules are created and distributed to approved teams
  • Responsible for scheduling tournament brackets
  • Responsible for scheduling referees and scorekeepers Ensure that all tournaments are USA Hockey sanctioned
  • Set-up pre-tournament meetings and agendas
  • Successfully run, staff, and coordinate all aspects pertaining to Adult League tournaments put on by the Florida Panthers IceDen, to include, but is not limited to Rockin’ St. Patty’s Day Tournament
  • Working in coordination with Marketing Manager to develop flyers for new and upcoming programs in a timely fashion to produce maximum awareness and participation.
  • Coach weekly Adult Clinics during the hockey season.
  • Additional Duties as assigned by Hockey Director, which may include occasional Staff Duty Officer Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Pointstreak, Excel, and Microsoft Word to develop and publish schedules and upcoming events
  • Strong ability to adapt to changes, work effectively under pressure and produce accurate results in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be available during the competition season to travel for weekend home and away games.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Position Requirements/Specifications

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including late nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • This is a full- time position
