The Florida Panthers IceDen boasts one of the most competitive youth hockey & adult hockey programs in the Southeast United States. Sanctioned by USA Hockey, all players enjoy structured leagues, programs, camps, & clinics. Panthers IceDen’s Travel Hockey team is the Florida JR Panthers, and they compete with other teams from around the country at a very competitive level.  Panthers IceDen offers private lessons at all playing levels, from beginner to elite, youth to adult. Private lessons can help any player improve!

Meet Our Coaches:

Neil Scancerella
Neil has coached goalies for the past 11 years at Floyd Hall Arena, Give Em’ Nothing School For Goaltenders, and Great Saves Goaltending. He started to run the Goalie Clinics at Floyd Hall Arena when he was 14 years old, and ran the Goalie Camps until he was 16 years old. With Give Em’ Nothing School For Goaltenders, he started working for them when he was 16 years and Great Saves Goaltending I started working for them at the age of 19. With all three, he focused on skill development of each goalie. Both schools have produced multiple NCAA Division 1 and 3 goalies along with many ACHA Club hockey goalies.

Neil played youth hockey in New Jersey for my whole playing career. Played 3 years of Varsity High School Hockey with two different teams. He attended the University of New Hampshire where I played Division 2 ACHA Club Hockey and won the 2014 National Championship my sophomore year. Neil graduated in May of 2016 with a major in Kinesiology: Sport Studies and a minor in Business Administration.
Anthony Perdicaro
Anthony Perdicaro, a native of south Florida, joined the Panthers Ice Den in June 2015. He began his hockey career right here in south Florida playing for The Planet Ice Predators before moving to New York playing for the Long Island Gulls AAA program From there Anthony was drafted to the OHL's Sault STE Marie Greyhounds. Anthony Played Jr. Hockey for 4 years and then moved on to a 7 year Professional career. During Anthony's time in Junior and Pro hockey he was coached and mentored by many current and ex NHL head coaches. Anthony has now dedicated himself to youth hockey in south Florida. Being one of the first players from the area to play Pro hockey he is very excited to be a part of growing the game of hockey in south Florida.
Nick Houser
Nick Houser, a native of Pittsburgh, PA, joined the Panthers Ice Den Hockey Operations department in August of 2016. He began his hockey career by playing youth AAA hockey in the Pittsburgh area before attending Shady Side Academy to compete at the Division I Prep School level. Prior to joining the Panthers, Houser completed his collegiate hockey career at the University of Michigan and Florida Gulf Coast University. He completed his bachelor’s degree in Sport Management while playing three seasons for the University of Michigan’s ACHA hockey team, where he served as team captain, before moving along to Florida Gulf Coast University to pursue his master’s degree in Business Administration. While at Florida Gulf Coast, Nick was elected as a team captain and ended his career with an ACHA National Championship in March of 2016. Houser was also selected for the 2016 ACHA Select Team, which represented the United States and USA Hockey in a European Challenge Series in Germany, Czech Republic, and Norway.

Professionally, Houser has experience in both professional sports and player representation. He served as a junior associate with the Erie SeaWolves Professional Baseball Club in the summer of 2014 and worked as an agency intern at Cornerstone Sports Management in 2015, where he represented athletes across the globe.
John GriffinJohn Griffin
For 10 years John was the director of the Top Shelf Hockey, 5 years with N.I.S.T.C. as the hockey director and 3 years with the Global Hockey School. John also has coached with the Florida Jr. Panthers and Florida Panthers Hockey Schools for years. John teaches all levels of private and group lessons. John was the original founding member of the South Florida First Youth Hockey League. John has two sons who also like to play hockey.
Randy Rodriguez 2 534x800Randy Rodriguez
Randy was born in Paterson, New Jersey and played high school hockey before moving to South Florida. Randy began coaching and worked with Rick Heinz goalie schools for 7 years. He has recently worked on the coaching staff for Pierre Groulx, Craig Anderson, Roberto Luongo and Robb Tallas goalie schools. Randy is a level 3 coach with over 20 years of experience and currently teaches beginner through elite goaltending. Randy is also coaches beginning skating and learn to play hockey group classes.
RTallasRobb Tallas, Goaltending Coach for the NHL Florida Panthers
Robb was born in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. At the age of 15 Robbie played junior B hockey for the Nelson Maple Leafs, where he was rookie of the year & made the 1st all star team. In the summer of 1995 Robbie went to the Boston Bruins training camp & then in 1996, was signed with the NHL New York Islanders. For the next 5 years he was signed with the Boston Bruins. In 200-2001 he signed with the Chicago Blackhawk's, followed by two years with the Pittsburgh Penguins. 2003-2004 Robbie played in the Finland Elite League & then finished his 13 year career in Austria.

Denis Shvidki 2 534x800Denis Shvidki
Shvidki, born in Kharkov, Ukraine, started skating at the age of nine. By the time he was 15, he was playing professional hockey in Russia for Yaroslavl Lokomotiv (then Yaroslavl Torpedo). At 17, Denis moved to Canada and started his first of two seasons with the Barrie Colts (OHL). Denis amassed 200 points at Barrie during that time. In the 1999 NHL Draft, Denis was selected 12th overall by the Florida Panthers and spent parts of six seasons with the organization including 76 games and 25 points for the Florida Panthers. He also played 173 games in the AHL (Louisville Panthers, San Antonio Rampage, Utah Grizzlies) where he amassed 112 points and was selected to two AHL All-Star games. In other professional stops, Denis spent his final eight seasons playing in Russia in the Kontinental Hockey League and in Germany in the DEL (Deutsche Eishockey Liga). Denis brings his 17 years of professional hockey experience to the Florida Panthers IceDen as one of our newest instructors!
